Finally- Ruby Starts Preschool

This day has been a long time coming for Ruby! Ever since Ella started Preschool two years ago, Ruby has been begging for her turn to go to school. The day finally arrived and she couldn't have been more excited! She has her very own back pack and lunch box for her snack that she has to bring. We found a great little school at a Presbyterian church nearby. Her teachers seem really great and so far Ruby is absolutely loving it. She goes 3 days a week and is sad when it's not a school day. She has so much fun doing art projects (she is definitely an artist!) and learning songs. Her favorite thing is playing on the playground. I am so excited for her to have her own activities and experiences to talk about. It's always been her following Ella and her friends around. We never seem to meet people with girls Ruby's age, so she's never really had an actual friend to call her own. So I am excited for her to meet and play with kids her own age and level.

So for three hours a day, three days a week, it's just me and Annie. I think she's a little confused. She'll randomly ask, "Where Ruby?" and "Where Ella?" and I remind her we took them to school and she says, "Oh. Chool." She is happy to be able to play with whatever toys she wants while they're away!

On the days where just Ella is at school, poor Ruby is just lost. She's constantly wanting someone to play ponies or princesses with her. I usually try to play, but sometimes I'm trying to get housework done and I have to tell her no. She just keeps asking non-stop. And when I do play, it's painful for me! I know that's so bad to say and it makes me a terrible Mom, but I truly think I've lost my imagination because I have such a hard time playing her little "stories". I try, I really do, but I just don't like it. Annie's still too young for the imagination play, so she's not an option for Ruby most times. A couple days after Ella started school, Ruby was eating lunch and she would come show me every time she took a bite. "Look at these chips! They're stuck together!" "Look at this turkey hanging out of my mouth!" I was starting to wonder why she was so needy all of the sudden, when it dawned on me that she normally has Ella to show all this stuff to. Now that Ella wasn't there, I got to see it all. Yikes! I just love Ruby so much and love her personality. I am so happy that she finally has a school to go to and is loving every minute of it!

Yeah for all your posts:) I love to hear how you guys are doing. The girls are both so cute going to school, and I love that Ella thinks she wakes up at night to get ready. The cruise looks amazing. Glad you 2 could enjoy.
