In early May, Mother's Day weekend, I drove up to Maryland for the first dental school girls reunion. Six of us made it there that weekend, and the rest were definitely missed! We had thrown around plans of going into DC and other adventures, but when it came down to it, we mostly just wanted to hang out and talk, talk, talk, talk talk. And eat. We all stayed at Christy's beautiful house and ate her delicious food. She is quite the chef! Pretty much everyone had to bring their kids, so I figured that I'd bring Ruby along for some bonding time. We had a babysitter come over all day Friday to stay with Ella and Annie while Richard was working (golfing!). Then he was home for the rest of the weekend. I figured that if I took Ella, Ruby would be lost without her at home. And I knew that Ella would appreciate the time to play on her own for a few days. She asks me pretty often if she can just play by herself, whereas Ruby would follow her around all day long. Ruby had so much fun with the other kids there, and even randomly told me she missed Ella. One day while she was coloring, she said, "I miss Ella. She's the best sister cause she teaches me everything she knows, like how to swing high on the swings." It about broke my heart. The funniest (and saddest) part was that Richard said Ella never even mentioned Ruby! She was in heaven, playing her own stories and setting up her room the way she wanted. I have hope that some day they'll realize how great it is to have a sister!

Stephanie, me, Kashann, Jerry, Christy, Briste, and Kristen
One of the nights, we all went to Jerry's Restaurant, which is known for it's crab cakes. Here is Jerry with us in our only full group shot! I was brave and ordered the haddock and crab cakes. Not a fan. The haddock was ok for a little bit, but I got tired of the flavor. All of the side dishes, which Jerry kept bringing out in waves for us, were excellent! And the desserts were amazing. I'm pretty sure we tried one of everything on the menu.
Another day, we went to the beach for a while and enjoyed relaxing in the beautiful scenery. And of course, talking.
This trip was so much fun! I have missed my friends from Buffalo so much! I loved talking with everyone and hearing their wisdom and ideas. It's great to have friends that know you and care about you. So until next year....

Sounds like a FUN trip! Okay, I want to see house pictures now. The kitchen and living room are on the THIRD floor?! Can't believe Ella is going to Kindergarten. I think I would feel the same way as you. Good luck!
