We went out to stay with Jonas in Chapel Hill for a weekend in January. While w were out there, we made a trip out to Asheboro to check out the NC Zoo. It was nice and will probably be better in the Spring and Summer when all the plants aren't dead. It kind of reminded me of the Phoenix Zoo, where there are lots of animals but you have to walk a mile in between exhibits. It's great for the animals because they have lots of room to roam, but when you look at them, they seem really far away. I miss the Buffalo Zoo, where they had every major animal and they were in tiny areas so you could see them up close. I know that sounds terrible, but it's true!
Sam hated the Phx Zoo last time we went and refuses to return. We went in the winter and I think there was a total of 2 animals out, one of them a 3 legged wolf- the other a panther with a tumor. Were you guys with us?
