The Polar Express

After Richard left to go back to Jacksonville, I remembered that they do the Polar Express train ride in Williams every year. Luckily, they still had some tickets left, so we made the drive up north to the Grand Canyon Railway. I convinced Melinda to come with us and I am SO GLAD she did. She even came on her birthday! We had so much fun and she was great with keeping the girls entertained on the long drive. Plus, I got to have some amazing conversations with her on the drive, which I really needed! Love you Melinda!

Here's the conductor punching our tickets:

Everyone is so excited for the train to start!

They passed out cookies and hot chocolate while they played the "Hot Choc-o-late" song from the movie (that's my fave)!

We sang lots of Christmas Carols on the way to the North Pole. We got there and saw Santa out on his sleigh, waving at the train as we passed. Then we started the return trip. All of the sudden, in the middle of a song, we heard some jingle bells. Then who walked into the train car? Santa! The kids were beyond excited!

Santa went around and talked to everyone and gave each kid a silver jingle bell, just like in the movie.
This was a really fun night! I would definitely do it again, if we got the chance.
