Livin' It Up at the Beauty Shop

The girls and I really needed haircuts, so of course, we went and saw Sharisa. She works at Adorn in Downtown Mesa and it's the cutest salon. I loved it, and of course loved the way Sharisa did our hair. When I told Ella and Ruby we were going to the Beauty Shop, they were all for it! I couldn't just tell them we were going to get their hair cut, so I had to make it sound like they were getting something fancy done. It totally worked!

Here's Ella's before:

And the after:

Her #1 goal right now is to have hair like Rapunzel's and I figured I'd cause her permanent emotional damage if I cut it off. So Sharisa trimmed it and put in lots of pretty layers. Then she curled it for her. I think it turned out beautiful. Ella LOVED it!

Ruby was a big talker leading up to her turn. Of course when it came time for her to get up in the chair, she lost it. I had to do lots of convincing and yes, bribing. Finally, with an Oreo in hand, she had her turn.

About halfway through the haircut, Sharisa was laughing and told me to look at Ruby. She was totally falling asleep! Her head kept nodding off and then she'd jerk and wake up. It was hilarious!!!

The finished product:

I absolutely LOVE it! It's such a cute little bob and has made a huge difference in the amount of tangles this girl has in her hair. Brushing it every morning when it was long, was like torture...for both of us. I love this picture too. Classic Ruby, looking cute, chic even. But the true Ruby is always evident...the face full of chocolate cookie crumbs!

Hey Erica, I havent seen you in forever but I came across you blog awhile ago and wanted to say Hi. Your little family is DARLING! I noticed you guys are living in North Carolina now. My husband is graduating medical school and we find out soon if we are heading that way for residency. I would love to hear where you are exactly and how you like it there? My email is anniecjohns@gmail.com if you ever get a chance.

Cute! I almost got the same little bob as Ruby for my birthday. I'm in definite need of a change, but after I realized how traumatized James was even at the thought of chopping off my hair, I reconsidered and he took me shopping. haha! Maybe some day. Ruby's looks adorable though!
