BLOG STALKING

The subject of today's discussion is BLOG STALKING. I find it a little disturbing that certain persons (who shall remain nameless) have the habit of clicking through the links on other people's blogs until they are about twelve people removed from a person whom they actually know. I'm not trying to be rude, I just find it fascinating.
It doesn't stop there. They comment on each other's blogs! There is nothing I want more than a comment from some random person I have never met before. Oh yeah, except for maybe a kick in the face, and possibly a sliver under a fingernail.
I realize that this pastime is pretty harmless. I therefore would like to conduct a survey. Just to see if this is a problem amongst the local women, or a nationwide epidemic. If you do not know my wife or myself I would like you to leave a comment. You don't even have to say anything, I just want to see how many people that I don't know are looking at our lovely blog.
By way of education I have included a photo and definition of what stalking is.

(to find this picture I google image searched stalker, and besides pictures of men with mustaches, glasses and mullets, this is the first picture that came up)

DEFINITION
3. Stalker

n. a person obsessed with another to the point of insanity. I.E. following one everywhere, calling constantly, not following restraining orders, collecting their hair in shower drains, constantly viewing unknown persons' blogs.

hey richard. just me.

yes, I am one of your "certain persons who shall remain nameless..." the freakiest and coolest thing about "blog stalking" is that sometimes you wind up on someone you KNOW from clicking through the friends links. and friends of friends are connected. and it's not stalking if you become friends with the people you spy on through other peoples' blogs... right??

p.s. my mom reads your blog. does that make her a stalker? she has actually met you guys, so I guess she is ok, right? what do you think? (you can stalk her right back by clicking on my links! see what fun this is!?!?!)

AH HA!!! Just the type of personality I was talking about! The "and it's not stalking if you become friends with the people you spy on through other peoples' blogs... right??" is exactly what I am talking about! Next it will be, "Oh, it's ok if I break into their house, put on their underwear, and run around rubbing peanut butter on myself whilst singing nursery rhymes. That's not stalking."
(and yes, I think it is lovely that your mother looks at our blog, she is a charming woman. It's ok, because we have met her.)

You must think you're pretty hot stuff! What, are there rules to leaving comments? Also, what makes you so high and mighty that you can't fathom the fact that people might happen upon your precious blog and want to leave a comment? You know, you can keep "creepy", lowly, scum from looking at your fabulous blog by making it private. Do us all a favor and set it up so that I don't accidetally find myself on your "oh, so wonderful" blog. While you're at it, why don't you change the name of your blog to "Don't look at this unless you are God"??? Then all of us low lifes will think twice before looking.

Well that last person pretty much hit the nail on the head. That is exactly the kind of defensive, angry person I DON'T want looking at my blog. And yes, I am cooler than you, and at least I know how to spell "accidentally".
Also, I would never make my blog private, I love the random creepy comments from ignorant wretches such as the anonymous post above. If you actually read and comprehended the post, you would see that I wasn't discouraging blog stalking, I just find it amusing. LIGHTEN UP!
I would like to also point out that this is my post, not my lovely wife's. She doesn't like it.
One more thing, don't be so silly. God doesn't need a computer to look at our blog.

is it stalking if we "went out" in 5th grade and you even gave me one of your sister's my little ponies then came to school the next day and said your mom wanted it back? :)

Richard,
This is Emily from Mississippi. Yes I am a blog stalker, but by way of looking at someone elses blog I stumbled upon yours. I have enjoyed seeing what happened to you after all these years. Congrats on the family and school. Your daughter is beautiful, mine and yours are about 6 weeks apart. Nice to see what happened to you after your mission and Ricks.
Emily

Richard!!! It’s Mary from Birch 101, 1999-2000. Remember me? I roomed with Emily (itty bitty), Christina, Erika, Lori, and Tenelle and you and Cosmo (Do you still talk to him?) used to come over all the time. I promise I am not a blog stalker (I have never even been on a blog until Emily created one) but Emily keeps finding all of our old friends from Ricks and I couldn’t help but leave a posting. It is great “seeing” you after all these years. It sounds like you are doing awesome and your family is beautiful. I noticed that you are from Gilbert. I just moved to Arizona last month so even though I don’t know anyone here at the moment (except my brother and his family) I can now say I know someone from here. I live in Maricopa right now but I am hoping to move into Tempe or Chandler soon. I have not been over to Gilbert yet but I hear it is a really nice area. Any good restaurants or cool places I should know about? Drop me an email if you or Erica have any suggestions: gracey_md@yahoo.com. I wish you the best of luck with dental school and with your new baby. Talk to ya later, Mary
